It was a humid, light rainy, steamy three miles this morning. My goal was to run some consistent splits at the fastest pace I could maintain. My neighborhood is relatively flat, so other than a couple minor hills here and there, I can usually do this pretty well. But not this morning. I did get a surprise on the second mile when I got blasted by a lawn sprinkler. Looking at the elevation map, it doesn’t seem very flat, but it’s the flattest place I have to run without getting in the car and driving somewhere. I wore my old New Balance shoes since it was raining, and I was missing my Nikes by the time I got home.
Today is Labor Day in the US, and also the kickoff of National Payroll Week. The payroll function rolls up to me at work and we are planning on taking the team out to lunch this week and showing them some love. They work really hard and 100% perfection is what everyone expects from them - and our team consistently delivers. If you can show some love to your payroll team this week, do it. Meanwhile, Happy Labor Day!
